Record fixed subscription costs
Write down the subscriptions that continue even if nobody uses the app. Include only services your proposed design actually needs. Record whether a price is observed, estimated or still unknown, together with its date and billing interval. A monthly planning view should not hide an annual commitment. Do not treat a free trial or first-month bonus as the recurring cost of operating the finished service.
Identify a unit for each variable cost
A variable expense needs a meaningful unit: a message, file, model request or another provider-defined operation. Find the actual charging basis before multiplying an assumed usage number. If the unit or price is unknown, leave that line unresolved rather than entering zero. This page offers a budgeting method, not a rate card or evidence that any particular Overskill integration charges in a specified way.
Compare total cost in two transparent scenarios
For a hypothetical example, a $100 fixed budget plus $0.02 per task would total $102 for 100 tasks and $120 for 1,000 tasks. Those invented figures illustrate arithmetic only; they are not Overskill prices. List the assumptions beside the result so somebody else can change them. Consider retries and failed operations where the provider bills for them, rather than assuming only successful user outcomes create expense.
Set a budget response before the limit
Choose the point at which new work pauses, who receives notice and how already-started work is reconciled. Verify whether a service offers a real hard limit, a delayed alert or neither. Do not describe an estimate as an enforced cap. Keep room for delayed charges and recovery activity. A useful budget includes an operating response to uncertainty, not merely a spreadsheet showing a comfortable expected total.
